Teased about circumcision

Question in full: are there any advantages/disadvantages of being circumcised becuse i get teased at school about it
Dear “are there any advantages/disadvantages”. Yes, there are both. There is some evidence which suggests that circumcised males have slightly less risk of being infected with some sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including herpes, HPV (the virus which causes cancer of the cervix in women, and, occasionally, cancer of the penis in men) and HIV. However – and this really important – the reduced risk is likely to be small, so it is crucial to practice safe sex (using condoms) for both circumcised and uncircumcised males. It would also appear that circumcised baby boys are less likely to get urinary tract infections in the first year of life (not that this is of relevance to you!). However, there are also some disadvantages. The operation itself can sometimes go wrong, causing bleeding, infection, and occasionally tightening of the skin around the end of the penis. It is also sore, at least initially! I know it is easy to say, but those people who tease you should grow up. There is nothing wrong with being circumcised, and there are some health reasons for being so. I would not worry about it. And what are people doing looking anyway?!
