Feeling ill

A boy wearing a jumper and a scarf with his hand on his forehead.
There are all sorts of things that can make you feel ill. These range from bugs (mainly bacteria and viruses, which cause infections such as colds, diarrhoea and vomiting, skin infections, etc), to conditions you may have been living with for some time and which are usually well controlled but which can sometimes flare up (such as asthma or diabetes), to injuries, to drugs and alcohol and to mental health problems such as feeling low and anxious. There are sections on this website on all of these topics, so do have a browse for more information. If you are feeling really ill, or are just not getting better after a few days, it is always sensible to let someone know, such as your parents, school nurse or your family nurse/doctor.
